ABOUT THE WORK
This new “Lake Series” of monotype prints explores color relationships, while their compositions hint at abstract landscapes. They are inspired by the contemplative mood of vast bodies of water meeting the light of the distant horizon. A monotype print is one-of-a-kind; it cannot be printed more than once, therefore each print is unique.
Prints from this series have been selected for ‘The Printmaker’s Hand’ – a juried group exhibition at Corvidae Press in Port Townsend, WA in November 2009; the ‘Fifth Winter National Juried Exhibition’ at the Marin Museum of Contemporary Art in Novato, CA in January 2010; and for a solo exhibition at the West Linn Library in 2011.
